Take my Hand.

18 Aug

I was reading Revelations today…after a strange night of dreams…that made no sense.

Appropriate…don’t you think?  Sometimes, Revelations speaks to me and sometimes it does not.  Today…little bits came out…pieces…ready to be placed in the puzzle.

There is a sorrow…a deep sorrow…so hard.   Many will surely die.  We are…or are not….already in the Book.  But there is time…more can be written…take the Hand…hold on and go the distance.

This is the story line…and underlying….the sorrow…the deep sorrow.  I connect to this sorrow…I feel it…I cry because of it.  I do not want to lose anyone.  I do not want to be “alone”….standing there…I feel alone.  But I know, behind me, over my shoulder, on the throne, is Everything.  I want us all to be there.   Join me!  Be with me…..

Belonging to Jesus

15 Aug

“For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves.   If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.   Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.”  Romans 14: 7-9

Jesus knew ahead of time….from the beginning, that we would be his.  He knew and knows who believes and who won’t ever.  He still gives us plenty of room to change…plenty of room to be headed for Glory.

Whatever we do….believe or not, love or not, become or not…we belong to Jesus.  Every soul…atheist,Jew, Methodist, Catholic…etc…each and every one of us….belongs to Jesus.  Will we all be saved?  NO…it tells us that. Can we all be saved?  Yes, it tells us that too.

A dear friend passed away last week.  A person, I believe at times, God put on earth especially for my salvation.  Did I already know about Jesus?  Yes.  Did I already believe in His death and resurrection?  Yes!  Was I committed?  No.

You ask, what does that have to do with it?  Everything.  It is not just about believing in the events that matter so much.  It is the living with conviction…the believing in the worst of times…the sharing Jesus’ love with our friends and foes.  My friend was committed…she was sure…she was giving…she was loving…she was honestly loving those God sent into her life.  She was willing to let God…be God.  All she wanted in life…and in death…was to serve him.  Not words folks.  Not an idea to exclaim…She was.

I had no idea what all that meant.  I had never seen it much in action…not as an adult at any rate.  It made a profound impact on my life.

Not everyone is lovable…not every one will open up to you ….or be willing to enter this “love” with you…but maybe…they will for someone who will “come into their lives”  just like my dear friend did in mine.

“Left”

14 Aug

“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.”  Revelations 3: 6, 13, 22

“Ears to hear” in this case…I believe…means those who are saved…they have “the ears to hear”.  These “hearing” ones must listen…”listen to the Spirit (Holy Ghost) and understand what he is saying….” to the churches (the group of all the believers in Jesus’ death  and resurrection).  In my study bible it says…the “church” will not be here during the tribulation.  That this is indicated by the sequence of events and the time line as given.

I also believe, that “listening and understanding” is an ongoing, everyday thing we must try to do.  It takes practice and it takes perseverance.  The disciples were “given” the understanding.  They had to lead, record, and begin….the faith as we know it.  The Holy Ghost equipped them quickly for the task.  Our jobs, and our faith, receive all that we need as well…but if you have the time to develop, then you must develop.  Much is expected of us…to do ON OUR OWN VOLITION.  The disciples got no more than was necessary and neither will we.  The rest we must find for ourselves.

Those who do not care to take the time, the energy, or the mental adjustment to develop their faith…may most assuredly be “left behind”.

Life as we know it!

10 Aug

Life….what we wake up to, what we sleep during, what we dream of.  Life….what we see as real.

My “life” changed last year.  In a split second or an hour…it changed.  What was, no longer…what I thought, no more…what I hoped, destroyed.

Why?  It never was all that to start with.  I was blind…I was ignorant…I saw what was not there.

New life?  Yes…trying…looking…hoping…loving…waiting.

Insights, visions, and fruit salad.

18 Jul

This has been a week of insights….not always what I want to know….visions…not always what I want to see….and fruit salad….I would much rather have tacos.

“Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness of other people.”….Carl Jung

It is oh….so easy to know how others fail us….yet, we have a hard time knowing how badly we really fail ourselves.  (*what we know about others is merely the transference of ourselves…on them.  ) Awesome don’t you think?    You must know your own dirt….it ain’t pretty folks….but it is real.  It will ground you to what is good….this “knowing” your own dirt.  It is not to be afraid of, but is to be embraced.  Funny thing, when you “know” your own “dirt” the other guy’s dirt makes more sense and really isn’t so bad.

“The question is not what you look at, but what you see.”…Henry David Thoreau

“I shut my eyes in order to see”….Paul Gauguin

If you don’t look at something….you surely won’t see it.  If you “see” in your mind…what it is…you may avoid looking at it….love this.  Fear again, will keep us from seeing all the wonders and good because we refused to look at what we are.  Seeing and understanding connections starts in seeing and understanding what we are connecting…Us and Them.  And Us needs to be first….there is no seeing and understanding Them if we have not taken the time to understand ourselves first.  If we skip the “US” part than all we see of “THEM” is “US”.

Like Gauguin…close your eyes….focus…be surprised…but see!

And the fruit salad?….The good for us stuff.  We know…we are not stupid…what will work well for us.  Do we run to it and embrace it?…NO….we want Taco’s.   The spicy, tear up your stomach kind…everything but the kitchen sink kind. Forget stupid fruit salad.   Good for us?….sure….exciting?…..NOT.  Have it both ways…eat(drum roll)….. FRUIT TACOS.  Hey, you may be surprised at how well it will work and how well you will like it.  NO stress, tension, hate, anger, fear….just….easy, comfortable, loving, relationships.    Forever?…no, but then nothing lasts forever.  Do not worry, you get to  Know, See, and Eat…FRUIT TACOS….again tomorrow.

Fast, faster, and fastest

10 Mar

Life is surely flying by at the speed of light these days.  It seems eons ago that I wrote here.

This week an awesome thing happened.  A business person, out of no where…I do not really know…stepped up to the plate and offered me help that blew me totally away.  She…I guess it is she…started in motion…a way for my business, to get out into the main stream…and give me a chance to survive and develop.  Why?…I asked her…

She said, when she started her business, there was no one to help her.  She was alone, making trial and error choices…and I got the feeling, having a hurtful time trying to succeed.  She has, as a result, helped others, who have come to her attention.  Like in the bible, she is sharing what she has with those who have not…or you can say… she is giving back.   All she asked, was that if I do succeed, that when the time comes…I too, “pay it forward”.  I, of course, agreed.

Why do some folks, feel a need, a responsibility … to give back, while obviously, others, see nothing but their own success and needs?  Why are there “good Samaritans” taking chances on others, while others are crossing to the other side of the path to avoid the needy?  This is a paradox…as old as time.  The chance taker, will actually “increase her wealth and expand her territory” while the others will slowly but surely fade away into nothing.   It is well documented and history proves this and yet some will still take the selfish path of avoidance.  Go figure.

In life, we have choices.  Our legacy, what we leave behind and forward as well…depends on our actions and reactions to situations.   We will decide to be charitable and helpful  or to be selfish and unfeeling.   In short, our life will add or detract.

I do not think I have the “big”ness this person has…yet…and I do not believe I have exhibited this same degree of “largesse” but I do feel that  I will develope and will be able to expand my heart to this degree.  I will be able to “see the need” and be able to fill it.   I believe it is what God intends and what He expects of me.
